What are you waiting for?
It’s so easy just sit back and wait for things to fall into your lap. But how often does that happen? More importantly, how much time is wasted waiting passively for things to happen instead of proactively working, every day, towards your dreams and goals?
Waiting around for anything – creativity, inspiration or a “better hair day” – you unknowingly invite regret into your life. Personally, I don’t believe in regret. What’s done is done, but just because you’ve done something one way for a long time doesn’t mean that it’s the right thing to do. Regretting the past and “what could have been” is essentially waiting for something to change that’s now impossible to change. Few things in this life are impossible to achieve but the inability to change the past is one such thing. So, how do you stop wasting time and start achieving what you dream?
1. The Morning Habit
Achieving your dreams starts the moment you wake up. Set yourself up for success by starting your day full of energy, focused and excited. A morning habit that sets you up for success can consist of several small activities such as expressing gratitude, setting personal and professional goals for the day, and meditation. Your mindset determines what kind of day you will have, how you deal with unexpected challenges and how you respond when somebody offers a helping hand. When you bring into line appreciation, focus your attention on setting goals, and quieten the mind to block out the noise, you are ready to go.
2. The Goals
How do you pursue what you really want? You set specific goals, you turn your goals into plans, prioritize your plans and create a daily routine to achieve them. Don’t settle for someone else dreams. Big or small, set goals for the things you want in your life. Start by dreaming big and then commit to what’s important to you. Transform your dreams into specific, motivational goals. A great goal keeps you up all night. Excites you. Makes you want to work really hard to achieve it. Remember that the process of achieving a goal is just as important as actually realizing it.
3. The One Thing
If you were only able to finish one thing for work today, what would it be? By doing the one thing that makes the most impact in your business, progress is made daily. Regardless of how busy you are, you’re always in a position of completing that one thing that matters most to you. By scheduling blocks of time – often referred to as “one-time” you will not only make this one important thing a priority but you will also ensure that you get a daily sense of achievement. Momentum builds momentum and accomplishments empower even greater results.
By implementing “one-time” you will be able to focus and direct your attention and prioritize what really matters. Prioritize what is important. Really important. Prioritize the things that bring you closer to your goals and put you on your path to realizing your dreams.
There’s magic in action. So, what are you waiting for? Start now. No more delays.
