Last Thursday (1 June 2017), our Founder and CEO, Therese Gedda, was featured in the leading Swedish newspaper, Svenska Dagbladet (SvD) for a piece about pursuing a career in the thriving Swedish startup world.
Here are some the article’s highlights (originally published in Swedish) along with some bonus tips from Therese:
1. Before you pursue career opportunities in either a corporate or startup environment, the most important thing to consider is your own values, goals and dreams. Before you decide on your professional life, start by recognizing what kind of lifestyle you want, what’s most important to you, and what kind of people inspire you. Lifestyle design is everything.
2. Identify your best self. Take some time to discover the answers to the following questions: What gives you energy? What are you passionate about? What are your strengths and talents? Once you’ve answered these, seek out an environment and a company that gives you the opportunity to grow, be challenged, and thrive.
3. How is life in a startup? Being part of a startup can be extraordinary. It’s a place with high level of responsibilities, a fast pace, an ability to make an impact, and see your initiatives in action. Everything you do adds to the value and progress of the company. You will also often be part of developing and growing the culture in the company, so regardless of your role, your contribution makes a big difference.
